W.E.T. :: W.E.T.
Frontier Records
By The Atomic Chaser
The secret of putting together a "Supergroup" is all about, chemistry. Without it, you have nothing. In the case of the latest "supergroup" to come onto the scene, W.E.T. This band has chemistry and more! First…the name… “W.E.T” is the acronym for the bands comprised of this sensational new project. Introducing Robert Säll, guitarist of Work of Art, Erik Martensson of Eclipse and Jeff Scott Soto, singer of Talisman. Along with a little help from friends such as Miqael Persson (songwriting), Magnus Henriksson (songwriting and guitars) and Robban Back on drums, W.E.T.’s debut album is served hot and ready for the release.To put it quite simply this album is a melodic rockers wet dream. One that you will never want to wake up from. Full of energy. Once you put the CD on it flows with grace throughout the entire play. In the spirit of such great melodic bands like Journey, Survivor and Toto, what W.E.T. brings to the table take the genre to a whole new level. The album opens with "Invincible" that sets the tone of the audio ecstasy that awaits you. The first single, "One Love" is next, if this number doesn't move you, better get a check up. Then you have tracks like "Brother In Arms" and the powerful, "Comes Down Like Rain" that are pure AOR perfection. I have to say, after hearing all the hype about this band, I am blown away. No hype here, W.E.T. is the real deal! Each individual is top notch on this recording. I am not going to compare/contrast to other projects these artists have been a part of a) the list is too long b) I do not think any would come close. It may be a wee bit early to declare this my AOR album of the year, but I can't see anything topping this.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
