Morphine Killer :: Unapologetic
CD Review
By Natalie Perez
Whenever a pair comes together it combines to create something unique. In this case, it deals with music. Eski (Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Drums, Songwriter) along with Belle Roko (Vocals, Keyboards, Songwriter) joined forces to establish a source of music that everyone could relate too. Grasping a wide range of influences they knew the rest of the music world could pick up on.
But it wasn't so easy, after the fall of their two previous acts Reckoning Day and Honor The Fallen, Eski and Belle took their musical skills to the next level. The formation of Morphine Killer was born, and so was “Unapologetic,” a 5-track selection of tunes that will surly get your body in motion. Offered within the 5-tracks is “From The Ashes,” Poison of This Lifestyle,” and “Hearts Remain Unpure,” aside from the title track and bane named track, these hand selected tunes, tend to please. Showcasing that intensity and energy that goes down the lines of Bleeding Through meets Metallica, with “Poison of This Lifestyle,” the instrumental side going to Metallica’s roots while Bleeding Through’s vocal tones come in and out from time to time. Whereas “From The Ashes,” takes a more heavier affect, letting the music balance itself out letting the vocals and instruments take turns.
Overall Morphine Killer’s “Unapologetic,” is a collaboration of all sorts one that shall not disappoint.
