When Billie Stevens (Handsome Devil: Sony/BMG & Wank: Warner/Reprise) decided to ease up on the rocking and focus on raising his daughter fulltime, he still wanted to be involved in keeping his passion alive. What was the next best thing to being on the road and touring? Starting his own multi media company that began with a Recording Studio out of his house and has now flourished into a bustling full service music facility out of Corona, CA.
I went to take a look at the studio because I kept running into incredible local bands that had all recorded their CD’s at DINKY. A few notable acts being: Metal Band ANA KEFR, Hot AC artist Rob Michaels and Preston Nash (Dope). It only made sense I’d see what everyone has been talking about.
With nearly 4000 sq feet of space it houses not only 3 recording studios but also offers onsite duplication, Artist Consultations, a regional booking agency, a production company (videos/live events), promotion agency, streaming internet Radio Station, an Accredited Off Campus Learning Facility for the Cal State School System and last but not least, a newly minted Independent Record Label. Talk about keeping your dream alive! I mean, if you had to wonder what a ROCKSTAR does for a day gig, this just takes the cake.
Not only is Billie’s production resume impressive (he has worked with the likes of: Ed Stasium, Ralph Sall, Mark Trombino, Brian Malouf, Guy Oseary, Loren Israel, John Avila, Bradley Cook, Cameron Webb, Mike Ness, Erik Fohlberg, Christian Olde Wolbers, Jeremy Popoff, Jim Monroe, Craig Nepp, Eddy Schryer, and Butch Walker) but the studio in itself is a veritable wet dream for any band out there looking at a “One Stop Shop.” How cool to find such a neat place nestled only a block away from the Fender Museum!
If you don’t live in the Inland Empire or haven’t heard of DINKY, it’s about time to learn what’s available. They offer tours by appointment and even have cool packages geared towards the general public like: Girls Night Out Karaoke sessions, Rockstar B-day Parties for kids ages 7-17, Anniversary recording Specials for your other half, Bride To Be and Baby Shower parties and countless other TOTALLY FUN things I would have never imagined existed so close to home!
