China Blue :: Twilight Of Destiny
Frontier Records
By The Atomic Chaser
Stunning and amazing debut release, 'Twilight Of Destiny' from the melodic rock project formed by keyboard extraordinaire Eric Ragno (Takara/Vox Tempus) comes to us in the form of CHINA BLUE. Ragno has assembled a special forces of musicians to bring his creation to life. Tony Mills (Shy/TNT) on vocals, Josh Ramos (The Storm/Hardline) on lead guitar, Ronny Smith on rhythm guitars. Then you have Doug Odell on bass and Zane Petersen on drums. From the opening, "What Do You Need But Love", it’s obvious what awaits the listener is an exhilarating experience of melodic rock brilliance. While tracks like, the melodic moving, "I Feel Like Dying" and progressive vibe of "Crimes (Of Passion)" while the haunting beauty of "A Last Goodbye", will send chills up and down your spine and leave you comfortably numb. Exhibiting just how powerfully tight China Blue truly is. Each song executed perfectly by musicians that are truly at the top of their game. The guitar work of Josh Ramos and Ronny Smith is simply amazing and inspiring. Eric Ragno on keyboards adds his progressive and melodic feel in all the right places, while Doug Odell on bass along with Zane Petersen on drums provides a very strong rhythm section. Special mention has to go to vocalist Tony Mills whose vocals surely shine on the album. His voice has matured and gotten stronger while he has managed to obtain tremendous control over his huge vocal range. In my opinion the strong point of this record besides the stellar musicianship and song writing is the fact that the album varies musically from start to finish. There is not a moment on this recording that is wasted. Your ears will smile with listening glee. China Blue will make you recall a time when all music was made to be remembered. 'Twilight Of Destiny' is an album that will definitely be loved by both rock and melodic rock fans. This is a real winner for fans of melodic rock and is a great addition to your music collection. Thank you Eric Ragno for this masterpiece of a recording! Job well done.
