Lucy Woodward
“Lucy Woodward Is Hot and Bothered”
By Kim Thore

The CD may be entitled “Lucy Woodward Is Hot and Bothered” but perhaps the subtitle should be “and so will you…”
You’ve more than likely heard Lucy’s vocals tugging at you in the background of films and television “movies” and so it should be as her sumptuous voice is a backdrop of tonal delicacies. As a singer/songwriter commonly known for the Top 40 hit "Dumb Girls", released in February 2003, Woodward continued to tour and contribute to various soundtracks eventually scoring a BMI Pop Award for writing the hit single "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" featured on Stacie Orrico's self titled album.
Now, with the introduction of “Lucy Woodward Is Hot and Bothered” Woodward has obviously found her niche.
With a come hither voice that heralds back to the days of No Doubt when Stephani was interesting, Woodward delivers an array of songs that range from Motown-esque love to dimly lit 1940’s nightclub torch tunes that make you think of the days of Sean Connery Bond movies, martini bars and unrequited lovers.
In short, “Lucy Woodward Is Hot and Bothered” is a must have cd for your eclectic collection and let’s just hope she keeps channeling whatever has her in a “state of sudden yet subtle arousal” and that she always has a mic nearby.
