Richie Kotzen :: Into The Black
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
The amazing and multi-talented Richie Kotzen returns with his latest and most soul bearing release to date, 'Into The Black'. Richie has outdone himself once again. His dynamic voice and melodic riffs get better and better with each record his puts out. The new material finds Richie Kotzen bearing his heart and soul, unleashing his emotions holding nothing back with unbridled passion. That is what you feel right off the bat once you hit play "You Can't Save Me", grabs you in a stranglehold and has your undivided attention. As does tracks like, "Misunderstood" and "Doin' What The Devil Says To Do", you can feel the emotion dripping from your speakers. This is one album that just kicks your ass from beginning to end. I kid you not! Richie Kotzen's music has always been filled with love and passion. What every music fan yearns for in a musician and 'Into The Black' is testimony to his greatness. When freed from any band restrictions, Richie Kotzen is capable of crafting some of the most moving, emotional and brutally honest songs ever. In summary, this is a very different album from his past releases, but at the same time, it's not! This is Richie Kotzen at his best. If you have loved his previous releases, you will love this one, which stands as a really satisfying rock-blues-soul infectious record! It is an excellent album and what I consider Richie's best album to date. 'Into The Black', will move you in ways unimaginable.
