The 35th Annual Los Angeles Police Family Fun Day and Celebrity Golf Tournament was held at Rancho Park Golf Course in West Los Angeles on Saturday, May 20th with Mark Wahlberg hosting. Funds were raised for the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation which aids families of fallen officers, and attendees gained a greater awareness of what the LAPD is all about. The morning started out first with the Honor Guard presenting the colors, and Dyna Shirasaki (ThundHerStruck) did a magnificent job singing the American National Anthem. The host Mark Wahlberg spoke next followed by Jim McDonald (LAPD) on the importance of this special day to our fallen heroes and their families left behind. A special moment of silence followed with a Rideless Horse Ceremony, which included helicopters flying over, to symbolize respect for the fallen officers. Then Pete Demetriou (Radio Personality KFWB) announced, “Let’s get this thing rolling.”
It was time to play ball with several celebrity golfers teeing up that included Mark Wahlberg, Bruce Jenner, Joe Mantegna, Paula Trickey, Anne-Marie Johnson, C. In the VIP area there was Baxter Humby (IMTC World Super Welterweight Champion) along with the bass player Sean McNabb (Quiet Riot, Great White) and his fiancée Christine Devine (Fox 11 News).
