DALLAS COWBOYS STAR FOOTBALL PLAYERS ROCK OUT IN FREE REIGN!

Hard-hitting football is nothing new for the Dallas Cowboys, who are one of the most successful football franchises ever. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that when several members of the Cowboys’ offensive line - Marc Colombo (vocals/right tackle, #75), Leonard Davis (bass/right guard, #70), Cory Procter (drums/center and guard, #71) - picked up their respective instruments and formed Free Reign, that their music would be just as hard-hitting as well. As evidenced throughout their debut release, ‘Tragedy’ (to be released January 26, 2010 via Riot Entertainment), the group - which also features guitarist Justin Chapman - is preparing to take the world by storm, and proving once and for all, that jocks can certainly rock.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Riot and to further establish our name internationally,” says Riot Entertainment Owner/CEO John Howarth. “Free Reign is a band with massive potential. There has been an enormous buzz surrounding them since they appeared on the scene a few months ago. Free Reign has already been flooded with endorsements. Their marketing potential is limitless. These guys are already huge sports stars, but they have shown they have the talent to diversify. I am positive that metal fans will embrace Free Reign and see them take it to the next level.”

Free Reign will be joining label mates Fozzy - which includes another jock-rock connection, as the group is fronted by WWE Wrestler Chris Jericho. “I would love to see a double bill with these bands, imagine that! No security needed!” adds Howarth. “I know that would be one hell of a gig. Imagine WWE, NFL, Fozzy and Free Reign fans all under the one roof; only the strong would survive!” Already the subject of a massive media response including features on ESPN, NFL Network, and in Sports Illustrated among many others, it’s now time for the music press to embrace this talented and once in a lifetime band. Free Reign will make the music world stand up and take notice as they unleash their high octane fueled, intense brand of modern metal. Soon, you will be able to experience the sheer brute strength of Free Reign for yourself, with the arrival of ‘Tragedy.’

Here’s What People Are Saying:

“FREE REIGN kick ass! These guys will pound you into submission, check them out now!”
- Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society)

“Free Reign! They don’t let the defense in. They’ll let the rock out!!!!!!”
- Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper Band)

“These guys scare the crap out of me!!!!”
- Scott Ian (Anthrax)

“Free Reign are true monsters of rock!”
- John Moyer (Disturbed)

Feisty Piranhas Again “Live In SoCal” With Two Upcoming Shows At Viper Room

Award-winning SoCal rock band Feisty Piranhas begin to heat things up in the New Year with two upcoming shows at one of L.A.’s prominent clubs, The Viper Room: January 30 (7 p.m. start time; full band) and February 13 (8 p.m. start time; acoustic performance by lead vocalist/guitarist Peter Alex Lust and new bassist, Ned Gardner). Log onto www.myspace.com/feistypiranhas for additional information.

2009 was a watershed year for the unique “father-and-son” band (drummer Peter Lust is the father of front person Peter Alex Lust), starting with guitarist Lust Jr. being pulled onstage by seminal punk band NoFX to perform the song “Linoleum” at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood and resoundingly winning over the raucous crowd; and ending with the band again being selected a “Hot 100 Unsigned Artist for 2009” by longtime respected trade publication, MUSIC CONNECTION MAGAZINE. In between, they opened for Nations Afire at The Whiskey; Opened for rock royalty the Blue Oyster Cult for the second consecutive year at the Canyon Club, where they also headlined; were interviewed by “Focus In The Mix” television show; released a new CD, “Live In SoCal;”perfomed with alt-rock front-runners Death By Stereo and A Static Lullaby in Long Beach; appeared with Korn at KROQ’s “Halos N’ Horns” Festival; opened for longtime rock gods, The Misfits, for the third year in a row, as well as the power/metal mainstays DragonForce, both at the fabled Ventura Theater; and were submitted for consideration for a Grammy nomination in eleven separate categories into the 52nd Grammys, the band’s fifth consecutive year receiving such an honor.

“By combining straightforward arrangements with instrumental virtuosity, the Piranhas

have achieved a sound that is remarkably powerful: simple without being sloppy, big without

being ostentatious (VENTURA COUNTY REPORTER). “Their sound is dark, moody, Socal punk/pop with unexpected flourishes” (ROCKWIRED).“They bring so much energy!” (VENTURA COUNTY STAR). “”The band’s mix of blues-punk-hard rock guitar, progressive rock drumming, emotional vocals, and razor-sharp clarinet harmonies creates a new breed of songs that are catchy but also have true emotion and musical attitude that are supported by Peter Alexs lyrics,” (L.A. TALK RADIO/LONDON GARCIA SHOW).

SUFFOKATE Release New Album

January 8th, 2010 by admin

SUFFOKATE Release New Album On Feb. 23rd, Post New Tracks Online and
Continue With Their Tireless North American Touring Schedule

SUFFOKATE are a true underground metal phenomenon and have built up a rabid, extremely loyal following upon releasing their self-financed debut offering in 2004. Now the band are finally poised to turn the metal world onto their unique brand of brutality as the much anticipated, appropriately titled new disc, No Mercy, No Forgiveness, is now set for a Feb. 23rd release. This album is pure, unfiltered heavy metal that will soon be hailed as one of the most devastating offerings of the year, so head over now to http://www.myspace.com/suffokate to stream two new tracks.

SUFFOKATE has refined their line-up and sound to an amalgamation of angst-ridden hardcore, fused with a Bay Area thrash backbone. This is extreme, unapologetic metal that pulls no punches and goes straight for the jugular with a barrage of frenetic riffs and crushing grooves that will pummel you into oblivion.

Starting Jan. 20th you can catch the band on tour nationwide as part of “The Small Town Shakedown” tour alongside The Ghost Inside, For The Fallen Dreams and Your Demise. All tourdates can be found at http://www.myspace.com/suffokate.

In August 2008, SUFFOKATE embarked of their first U.S. tour and haven’t stopped touring since playing alongside the links of everyone from All Shall Perish and Caliban to Sea Of Treachery, Blindwitness, And Hell Followed With and Destruction of A Rose.

Taylor (guitars) further states: “We are extremely excited and anxious for our new release. As a band we haven’t put a new album out in five years. Since then we have grown as musicians and as people. Over the past year we have been touring nonstop in support of this new effort. We feel that our sound is different than a lot of bands. The goal of this unit is to blend all styles and genres into one sound that we call our own. We feel that our music can appeal to any type of heavy music listener.

No Mercy, No Forgiveness is the next step in the progression of our sound. There are some very new and different things on this album that this band has never done before. Hopefully this will take us to the next level and allow us to stay on the road as that is what we do best. Take a look at our MySpace page to see if we are coming to a town near you and we hope to see you all soon.”

AWARD-WINNING COUNTRY/POP VOCALIST, EILEEN CAREY

December 30th, 2009 by admin

AWARD-WINNING COUNTRY/POP VOCALIST, EILEEN CAREY

Carey Caps Outstanding Year By Winning “Americana Album Of The Year”  At 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards; Selected A “Hot 100 Artist For 2009” By MUSIC CONNECTION Magazine; Endorsement Deals, Possible U.S. Tour In Works For 2010

Country-Pop vocalist/singer-songwriter Eileen Carey will be hard-pressed to “Move On” from the success she enjoyed during 2009. In addition to her recent  CD release MOVIN’ ON (MyRecordLabel.net) receiving critical acclaim, Carey won both “Americana Album of the Year” (19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards) and “2009 Song of the Year” (5th Annual South Bay Music Awards) as well as being selected a “Hot 100 Unsigned Artist For 2009” again this year by respected international trade publication, MUSIC CONNECTION Magazine.  Inpart as a result of these accolades, Carey is now being looked at by various companies for endorsement deals – among these, a major retail clothing company for use of her catchy tune, “Out With The Girls.” A U.S. Tour is in the works for 2010 as well.

Last Summer Carey recently performed at four different showcases during the 2009 Indiegrrl Women In The Arts Conference in Nashville, TN. - one of the biggest, most important yearly gatherings showcasing today’s brightest new female artists in all music genres.“Singer/songwriter Eileen Carey has emerged over the last few years as a both an accomplished storyteller and effective, appealing stylist,” writes Ron Wynn in NASHVILLE CITY PAPER  “That Was Her, This Is Now” and “Hearts Of Time” from Carey’s previous CD of the same name are still receiving airplay on San Diego’s New Country 95.7 as well as other Country and AAA stations nationwide.

(who divides her time professionally between Nashville and Los Angeles) contributes the song “Faith” from MOVIN’ ON  to the just-released ROCKIN’ MOMS VOLUME 2 compilation. Carey – who just created a female networking site, www.themusicmom.com — is proud to be affiliated with Rockin’ Moms, whose mission is “to promote, provide resources, and acknowledge the work of mothers…since 2004, the online community and website has grown to serve members from all over the world.” California vocalist Eileen Carey deftly mixes pop and country influences on her new CD, inserting in her leads a clarity and edge that’s both refreshing and insightful,” writes NASHVILLE CITY PAPER. “Carey’s approach and style on “Do I Dare” and “What Goes Around” shows that’s she’s able to extend her idiomatic range but still reflect the story-telling acumen and authority necessary to ensure country credibility.  NASHVILLE COUNTRY CLUB opines, Eileen Carey has come a long ways in her maturity as a vocalist…true to her song-title ‘That Was Then This Is Now’, the tune metaphorically gives her a re-introduction into her music. The production on her album also has given her a chance to focus on her ability as a singer as well as an original artist.  MUSIC NEWS NASHVILLE writes, “Carey has done well with her cover of Keith Urban’s “That Was Her, This Is Now,” as well as the moving “Stand,” which might very well be the best cut on the album.  If you like your Country with a little bit of an ‘80s flair, you might like this”! L.A.’s ALL ACCESS MAGAZINE wrote, “On Eileen Carey’s new single “That Was Her This Is Now” the country singer from Southern California uses her Nashville native, easy-flowing twang to tell the universal country-themed song of being the new woman in a man’s life; when he was mistreated, to great effect…it is the poetry of the lyrics that country fans and non-fans can relate to, even many males since they have also tried to gain a women’s trust after their hearts been shattered. Carey’s voice is warm, welcoming and full of heart…even for non-country fans, you may find yourself falling for the red head with the catchy tunes and endearing voice.

Carey briefly describes each of the songs on MOVIN’ ON. “That Was Her This Is Now” is “about being the new woman in a man’s life;’ “What Goes Around” opines that “what you put out (in the Universe) comes back to you;” “Moving On” (the title track) talks about “when relationships, passion, and communication have run their course, it’s time to move on;” “Stand” is about “never giving up on your dreams;” “Do I Dare” discusses “taking the next step in life;” “He’s Not Mr. Right, He’s Mr. Right Now” is “just having fun in your present relationship…with no ties.” “Out With The Girls” finds Carey singing that “girls – poor, young, rich, and old – all need a night out on the town!;’ “Faith” details “being in the wrong relationship and you don’t know it…you’ve gotta have a little faith in yourself.” “Newsflash” ends the disc on a positive note: “when you think things are bad, life can turn on a dime…don’t ever give up!”

A prolific songwriter, Carey’s “Hollywood” (from her most recent album, HEARTS OF TIME) was nominated in the “Country Single Of The Year” category for the recent 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards. Carey is a dynamic live performer that mixes musical genres. “Carey’s music is reminiscent of the Stones tapping into country with a female Jagger,” wrote Doug Deringer in respected national trade magazine, MUSIC CONNECTION, during a review of Carey’s August 2008 show at The Derby in Hollywood. “Her vocal style is a bit Reba McIntire with a touch of Bonnie Raitt thrown in…Carey delivers very solid vocals; she and her band play well together,” the review continues, “and they have a tight, cohesive feel that can only come from experienced and well-rehearsed players…Carey’s material is strong enough to find a wide audience in the country/pop market…this album could take her music to the next level.” Brian Lush, Producer and Host of online music magazine ROCKWIRED, says, “I am personally very excited to see this album hit the shelves…!”

Performs Locally: VIN CLUB WINE BAR (New Year’s Eve); THE ROCKIT ROOM (Jan 1)*

Award-winning Singer/Songwriter, Guitarist and Producer,  John Enghauser, performs locally in the Bay Area back-to-back nights: Vin Club Wine Bar, 515 Broadway (between Columbus and Kearney), Thursday, December 31 (9 p.m. and 12 midnite). Tickets $50. (reserved), $20 (standing room). Info: 415-277-7228 or log onto www.thevinclub.com for more info. This talented musician has recently begun receiving the acclaim he justly deserves - first, winning “Hot AC Album of the Year” for his CD “Lost In The Pages” (Australian label Blue Pie Records) at the 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards (watch a LAMA’s Red Carpet Interview with Enghauser at http://www.dailymotion.com/..video/xbga9h_john-enghauser-..la-music-awards-2009_shortfilms). Most recently, Enghauser won a year-end “Grindie Award” for Best Album from RadioIndy.com.

Enghauser has been on the original music scene since the mid 90’s. Beginning with his band Jamawokee, a high-octane four-piece funk rock project which debuted in Massachusetts, John began honing his songwriting and front man skills. The band released its first recording self-titled album “Jamawokee” in 1996. In the late 90’s, Enghauser fronted his own original group, Jeng, in which he wrote all of the material and whose potent live show piqued the interest of record labels such as Columbia and Virgin Records. John subsequently released his second album, “Larium Dream” - a compilation of Jeng songs he’d written during his time with the band. It was around this time that John also served as Music Director and contributing songwriter on the indie films “Urban Relics” and “When it Rains”. The “Urban Relics” soundtrack was Enghauser’s third album to be released.

In 2000, Enghauser ventured westward, landing in California. After several musical stints in San Francisco and Los Angeles, John has settled in the Bay Area, where he currently resides.

In addition to performing all vocals, John plays guitar, bass and keyboards on “Lost In The Pages,” which has been played in 13 countries worldwide including England, Australia, Germany, France, New Zealand, Canada and the U.S.

“At the time I was writing most of the material for “Lost in the Pages” I was going through an awful break-up so you’ll find lots of emotional lyrics about things like heart break, loss and redemption,” says Enghauser. “I also performed all of the vocals, acoustic guitars (electric, too), keyboards and bass, so it was a very time-consuming project for me. I think that the making of the CD gave me a much-needed escape to gravitate toward as well as a diary for what I was going through at the time.  And it was a hell of a lot of fun to make,” he confesses.

Among the songs on “Lost In The Pages” that rate as Enghauser’s favorites is “Cognition, Inc.”.  “This is a funky re-tooling of a tune I wrote with my former band, Jamawokee.  It’s a completely different song now and I even changed up the lyrics a bit.  The lyric is still one of my favorites. It’s a satire which pokes fun of the American media and how much they shape our lives in the way we think and do things without us even knowing it.  Think about how often you do, say, wear and buy things based on what you’ve seen, heard or read in the media.   Cognition, Inc. is this big mind-controlling machine that we all submit to which claims to fulfill all of our wildest dreams.  We all buy into it, but at what cost?” On a more sensitive note, “So Many People” is “an ode to Jaco Pastorius, the ingenious fusion bassist who died tragically. His biography is the most fascinating story I’ve ever read.  I think it’s the only book I’ve ever read twice. This is one of my favorite songs and one of the best composing jobs that I think I’ve ever done. Sometimes when I listen to the complexities of it I can’t believe it came from me.  And it grooves so hard!  What’s ironic about the way I recorded the song is that it’s the only time I played the bass line with a pick.  I don’t think Jaco ever played with a pick in his life.”
