Takin’ It To The Limit:

WHAT A YEAR ITS BEEN FOR THE BOYS OF SUMMER (EAGLES TRIBUTE) – 2014 YEAR IN REVIEW:  HERE’S A LOOK AT WHAT THE MEDIA WROTE AND SAID, AS WELL AS SOME OF THE GREAT VENUES THEY’VE PLAYED

(HERE, THERE…EVERYWHERE!) – The Boys Of Summer were everywhere during what was an incredibly successful forty-city, national touring campaign in 2014. The Southern California-based Eagles tribute wowed the biker crowds in Sturgis; visited the City by the Bay, San Francisco, where they performed with renowned comedian George Lopez at the Paramount Theater; headlined festivals, including Windsor Kaboom; and played some swanky high-end casinos in between, from all the way up in Washington State to the Pala Casino in their home-base of SoCal, which was, fittingly, their final show of the year.

The Boys of Summer are James Williamson, drums-vocals; Darrel Monson, guitar/vocals; Craig T. Fall, guitar/vocals; Chris Turbis, keyboards/saxophones/acoustic guitar/vocals; and Bill Winkler, bass/vocals, five hardworking musicians who play and channel some of the greatest music ever created and produced on the West coast, that being from legendary rock group, the Eagles. With each band-member possessing many decades of professional experience, TBOS play the true musical heart and soul of the Eagle’s music – recreating the sounds, harmonies, and most important, the feel.

Uh Oh!: The band had to make an emergency landing in Klamath Falls,  Oregon when their Alaska Airline Jet lost power in one of its engines. They had been on their way to a gig at the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Calif. that evening. Undeterred – and no doubt channeling that old show business refrain, “the show must go on!” – The Boys of Summer made it to their scheduled show that night. Thanks to some quick-thinking promotional acumen, the story was relayed to the Auburn Reporter, who wrote about it here: http://www.auburn-reporter.com/entertainment/246070651.html.

“An Army Of Air-Guitar Players”: “It’s the songs,” said TBOS’ Jimmy Williamson, when interviewed by Stockton Record entertainment writer Tony Sauro about what makes the band’s vision (and version) of Eagle’s songs so special. “Everybody knows every record. Every song. Every guitar lick. And then he adds: “There’s just an army of air-guitar players out there doing  “Hotel California” when we play. Everybody knows every bit.” Check out the rest of this insightful interview here: http://www.recordnet.com/article/20140903/ENTERTAINMENTLIFE/140909889/-1/A_ENTERTAIN.

The Boulevard Overfloweth: “Thousands turned out for the first concert of Live On The Boulevard…The Boys of Summer hit the stage, kicking off the concert series,” writes the El Dorado Hills Telegraph. And from what we can see, keyboardist Chris Turbis (pictured below in one of the many photos the newspaper ran accompanying the story) was lovin’ every minute of it!
