Leann Rhimes

2004 when the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center opened at College of the Canyons it give the Santa Clarita and nearby areas a alternative for performances than driving to the city. This year for the venue’s anniversary was an acoustic set on September 28, by the two time Grammy award Country singer that features two guitarists on stage. Last year she released her new album Spitfire. She and the audience had fun interacting joking with laughter with each other through the ninety minute show. Some of the songs she performed were: “Spitfire”, “How Do I live”,” Can’t Fight The Moonlight” and “Blue” which got loudest applause of the night.

Leann RhimesDuring the show an audience member from the balcony area shouted: “Can I dance in your next music video?’’ The audience though it was part of the set which it was not. She said come on down and he and his wife went to the stage to dance and Leann performed Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock. While the couple did country dancing, two male members of her crew were holding each other while they strutted across the back of the stage while Leann was singing. The laughter from the audience stopped her from singing as turned to her crew to ask what happen. She walked to the side of the stage and brought one the male crew members to dance with her and told her he doesn’t dance and her body and hand reaction made the audience laugh.

The audience talking after the show I gave compliments to the couple dancing on stage after the show as they were on an emotional high and nervous of enjoyment even after leaving the stage and when the show was over they getting.

This was an honor to have her performing at the venue and hope she continues to perform with a full band for more performances.
