Two for the price of one in Austin
David Lowery and his band, Cracker, recently hit the stage at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. The band is known for their Americana style of music, a mix of classic country, psychedelia, punk and folk. Lowery and his longtime friend Johnny Hickman formed the band back in 1991. Today, drummer Frank Funaro and bassist Sal Maida, round out the rest of the band.
Opening the night for Cracker was another band also fronted by Lowery, Camper Van Beethoven. Camper Van Beethoven, even though they share many of the same musicians as Cracker, is an alternative Indie rock group. CVB members include Lowery and Funaro with Greg Lisher and Jonathan Segel. Bassist, Victor Krummenacher and keyboardist, Kenny Margolis also sit in with Cracker.
